Penarth Estate Pink Sparkling Wine- Perfect For Your Lover On Valentine’s Evening.
If you’re thinking of buying something special for your loved one on Valentine’s Day, why not consider a bottle of Penarth Estate Pink Sparkling Wine?
Penarth Estate is run by Tanya and Gary Herbert, and is situated in the Vale of Clwyd about a mile outside of Newtown.
The vineyards are located on the banks of the River Severn, which has a warming effect on the micro-climate. This enables Tanya and Gary, together with their Vineyard Manager Will, to grow varietals that would ordinarily struggle the grow satisfactorily this far North. These include Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay, and most recently, Merlot.
The Pink Sparkling Wine is a 2009 vintage and is made from 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Pinot Meunier, a classic blend known in Champagne as Blancs de Noir.
After pressing and vinification at Three Choirs Winery in Hereford, the base wines are allowed to mature in stainless steel tanks for two years, before blending and undergoing secondary fermentation in the bottle for a further year.
This results in a rich, well structured sparkling wine with nuances of soft red berry fruits, a touch of quince, and the lovely toasty, brioche notes that you’d expect from a wine made in the Methode Traditionelle.
Brilliant value at £23.50, this is a wine your special one, and you, will love. And if you’ve half a day to spare, why not contact Tanya and pop along for a visit!
