Authentic Welsh Delights
Traditionally a lunch time staple for working men in Wales’ slate mines, now one of the nation’s signature foods, our Welsh Cakes are a firm farm shop favourite. You’ll find a generous batch, hot off the griddle, flavoured with spice and sprinkled with sugar, everyday in the bakery, as well as in the Furnace Tearoom.
And, of course, no Welsh bakery would be complete without traditional Bara-Brith – a rich fruit loaf, made with tea, and spiced fruit – delicious with a lashing of Bodnant dairy’s handmade, salted butter. Our special recipe is so authentic, it originates from a Welsh farm house just off Bethesda.
